The Teton County Extension Service strives to help individuals and families through outreach and educational offerings. Our Family
and Consumer Science Extension Agent, Jane Wolery Beadle, offers a variety of services including classes, informative articles,
research-based information and individual consultation. Some individual services available include the safety testing of microwave
ovens and dial-gauge pressure canners. Jane also answers questions on a variety of home and family issues from budgeting to child care
to home-based business operation. If you have questions about the variety and extent of information available, please contact us at
tetonext@3rivers.net

A class on just about any topic related to home and family is available from your local Extension Office by request. Please feel
free to offer suggestion or to check for other class possibilities. Food production to sewing to child care to finances to life cycle
issues can be addressed. Just call us!
Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate? This is a great class on how to deal with non-titled
property. The class addresses family relations and issues that transferring property creates. This class takes about an hour and needs
to be in a facility that can accommodate at least two card tables, an overhead projector and a screen.
Kitchen Safety: During this program you will review practices from your own kitchen and
how to improve the safety of the food your family eats. There is a quiz in this class, so be prepared! This class takes about 30
minutes to present.
That's About the Size: Class is adapted from the research of UW specialist, Betty Holmes,
and contains information on our skin and bones idea of beauty in a super-size it society! Basically an informative program about size
acceptance that touches briefly on nutrition and exercise.
Tickle Trunk Ideas for Child Care: This class is actually geared more for beginning
babysitters, but could easily be adapted for parents. Class can include ideas on child and babysitter safety. Class also helps
participants begin building their own "Tickle Trunk" full of learning activities, games, tools, crafts and other ideas for use in
entertaining, educating and enlightening children. Class can take anywhere from 3-8 hours depending on selected content. If needed, the
class could be done in segments.
Figures -- Making Yours Add Up! This course is all about making the most of what you
have! Class includes a bit of color analysis, information on appearance, dressing for your best look and some general thoughts on why
we get dressed in the morning! A great class for young adults and a nice refresher course for those of us who have been dressing
ourselves for quite some time!
Give Me a Hand! Do you want to know how to prevent germs from spreading? Well, give me a
hand and I'll show you. In about a half an hour you will learn the importance of washing hands and we will even check to make sure you
are doing it right. This class is fun and simple, but holds important concepts. The only facility requirements are easy access to
sinks, soap and towels.
Team Up: This class is interactive and shows how groups work together. It takes almost an
hour depending on the group skills involved. This class is so fun it is almost like playing a game.
Your Window to the World: This class is designed for any business owner or group needing
to market through use of display. The class contains facts on visual marketing and customer response.
Terrific Textiles: We have many classes available dealing with textiles. Extension has a
great resource in Yellowstone County Extension Agent Bernie Mason who has been willing to share her knowledge and program supplies with
us. From curtains to wearable art, a variety of classes can be made available. Call if there is a textile topic you'd like to talk
about!
Let's Give 'Em Something to Talk About: This class takes 45 minutes to an hour. The
content is about communication and an awareness of the mechanisms of gossip. It is a fun program that will challenge you to think about
issues from a different perspective. Can be tailored to 3rd grade on up.
